JOELENE HILL – The Studio, founded in January 2014, is the island’s leading colour specialists' workshop.
Housing the industries finest colour experts, we draw on the imagination and flair of our team of stylists and expert colourists to create beautifully bespoke coloured hair and effortless style for discerning clients. The design of our unique St Helier building reflects the ethos of the brand. We collaborated with our architect-builder to use locally sourced and up-cycled raw materials throughout the building, styled and constructed as part of a coherent and original vision.
The lack of embellishment in the building reflects the organic ethos in our day-to-day creativity. We aim to achieve a bespoke, polished look, enhancing the hair’s natural colour as opposed to covering it. Pioneering the correlation between the art and the science of colour. This is the JOELENE HILL methodology and we aim to apply it seamlessly throughout the studio and the services we provide. We also responsibly source the products we use, and we are continually striving to make our business more environmentally sustainable.

With over a decade in the hair, make-up and fashion industry, Joelene directs the creative work of The Studio. After studying at the Istituto Marangoni Milano, Joelene embarked on a career in that city’s vibrant fashion and film industry. Creating hair and make-up looks for fashion editorials, published works, runway and cinema developed her skill, stimulated her imagination, and promoted the connections between hair, make-up and style. The looks she was creating and the unique coloring style she developed was something which she wanted to develop and offer to clients in Jersey. She looked to create a space that could allow artistic development, and this is the mission of The Studio today.
Janine is an internationally accredited Art Director at JOELENE HILL - The Studio. She joins us from one of Bermuda’s leading salons with over 20 years of global creative experience including South Africa, London, Edinburgh and Manchester. Janine’s technicalities lie within attention to detail which is prevalent through her colouring, cutting and styling artistry.
Sophie joins us from a leading hair salon in Primrose Hill with over 10 years of creative experience. Sophie’s specialism lies within all aspects of colouring, she has been classically trained whereby precision cutting is her mètier. Through a clear vision and understanding the client’s needs, Sophie’s work is consistent and sustainable.
Tania joined the creative team in 2016, where her passion for particular colouring techniques create a distinctive polished finish. Her focus on science and education is the centre of her practice. Tania is involved in the JHTS Methodology Education Programme, whereby she mentors new talent.
Diogo is our Creative Designer at JOELENE HILL - The Studio. Diogo joined the studio in 2020, and since then has continued to develop his skills and interests within the industry. Diogo’s speciality is emerging trends and cutting edge techniques for creative colouring, cutting & finishes.
In addition to managing the day-to-day running of the studio, Danielle is head of client relations and an excellent ambassador for the business. Her creative passion and brand awareness has allowed her to work closely with Joelene in the creation of new online content and strategic business development. Danielle’s work is central to transmitting the JOELENE HILL DNA both behind the scenes and front of house.
